Here is a very rare bespoke lightweight tuxedo suit from the US in double breasted shawl collar shape. The two items are not technically a suit but came from the same gentleman and were worn together. The jacket dates from 1949 as you can see and the trousers perhaps slightly later. A wonderful item that really does scream of a bygone era. This was from a wardrobe we bough a white ago now and was kept aside, the other garments were similarly stylish and high quality. Apologies for the creasing, the steamer broke down ! It will be steamed before postage.
Measurements "
Chest - 21.5
Sleeve - 23.5
Shoulder - 19.5
length, from top of collar. - 30
Trs. - 34 2 x 30 2
Fit - A 40 and slightly short but the 23.5 sleeve is a little deceiving, the wide shoulder and loose fabric, combined with a shorter sleeve on a dinner jacket of this time mean that someone up to 5'10 could use this, assuming they like showing cuff. a 30 inch back is pretty regular
Condition Excellent for the age and colour. There is some discolouration around the neck as photographed but this really isn't much and is hidden to an extent. It may also come out with some professional cleaning.
