Vintage 1970's Gieves Savile Carnaby street bespoke grey suit size 40 long
For sale here is a very very rare and stylish prince of Wales suit made by Gieves in 1974. The suit was made for a dapper military man by Gieves and has to be one of very few in this cut. We've never had a bespoke suit of this quality in what we call ' The carnaby street cut' although I'm sure that's officially wrong and there is a better name. That nomenclature refers to the high fastening double breast ( in this case 4 button) with long skirt, wide - almost notch lapel, boot cut trousers and integral belt. Think Roger Moore in his early Bond films. You see these suits on TV and occasionally from high street brands like ' Lord John' but you just never see them in this quality. The suit features two button cuff, belt, cavalry cut hem and mother of pearl buttons. The cloth is an elegant dark Prince of Wales. A wonderful piece of mens fashion and style history.
