For sale here is a real find of a suit made in 1947 by Hawkes & Co. The cloth is undoubtably a pre war suit and actually looks more like a cloth from the late 20's or early 30's, which wasn't uncommon post war. The jacket has a bold and stylish cut for 1947, more like that of a 30's dinner jacket with waistcoat and trouser cut contemporary to that. The lining is a brown alpaca which complements the tweed perfectly although not in ideal condition. What a very unique and special suit.
