For sale here is a very very rare shawl collar dinner jacket from the Edwardian period. Very common in Edwardian fashion plates depicting impossibly slim footed gentleman in clothes seemingly painted on but in reality almost non existent other than in the 1960's suits which they inspired. In ten years of working in high end traditional mens wear this is the first we've seen. The jacket is made from a surprisingly heavy herringbone wool cloth with silk gros grain and lining, covered buttons and working cuff. The cut is a relatively long body with a soft shoulder and elegant shawl as was typical of the fashion after the initial short body cutaways of the very first dinner jackets. A wonderful item the likes of which we do not expect to see for another few years at least.
