WW2 Savile Row dragoon guards cloak greatcoat size medium
For sale here we have a ver very rare Inisklling Dragoon Guards Cloak made in 1940 by Jones chalk & Dawson. We have been reliably informed that this style was worn pre war by several guars regiments instead of a greatcoat. We have also been told that the button arrangement is original and would be worn either straight or angled depending on if they were mounted or not. The cloak is made of a doe skin, very much like naval greatcoats and the lining is the orange red hopsack you see sometimes on officers kit from pre WW2
http://www.uniformology.com/HEAVY-CAV-05.html shows the design.
Measurements
Sleeve - 27
Shoulder - 21
Length from top of collar - 52
Chest - 26
Fit - Its a very loose item but given that no military men were over size 40 in the past its safe to assume a 38-40.
Condition - Lots of little moth nibbles on the reverse of the collar and some on the body too. The lining is pretty rough also. However, the actual navy doe skin isn't too bad and the buttons are all original.
