1970 Tommy nutter bespoke suit size 38 long made for Hardy Amies
Here we have one of the most special suits we've had the fortune to have on the site, a real piece of English tailoring history.
The suit was made in 1970 for Hardy Amies - tailor, fashion designer, tile salesman, military intelligence officer, spy, translator, tailor to the queen and more. the suit was made by Tommy Nutter at the peak of his powers and creative flair and is a perfect example of the style of that period. the cloth is a muted brown hopsack with complementary lining, contrasted by burnt orange gros grain trim. As you can see the jacket has an amazing waisted cut, complemented by slim sleeves and trimmed waistcoat. The trousers are typically fairly slim with a flair to balance the lapels.
